Project Planning, Evaluation & Execution (3rd Party Developments)

Procedure

  1. Application is made to the Authority in respect of proposed development
  2. NPA responds with detail requirements for approval of the development
  3. On receipt of the requirements, the Authority evaluates concept of proposal and responds on approval of concept or otherwise
  4. The Authority forwards proposal to Federal Ministry of Transport (FMOT), ICRC, BPE and other required Government agencies, if outside Managing Director’s approval limits
  5. Proponent submits final requirements if there is approval to proceed further on development
  6. Authority carries out final evaluation of proposal based on availability of requirements
  7. The Authority forwards Final proposal to Federal Ministry of Transport and other required agencies for approval and transmission to FEC for approval or otherwise
  8. The Authority conveys final approval to proponent or otherwise
  9. The Authority monitors physical construction of developments.

Documentation

Structure Type A: Jetty, Quays, Breakwaters, Slipways including all Marine Structures

  1. Location map of proposed structure indicating adjoining development and hinterland connections
  2. Evidence of land ownership (C of O, lease status e.t.c)
  3. Bathymetric Survey map of the waterways
  4. Engineering /Coastal morphology/Dredging studies of the waterways of the proposed Structure location inclusive of information on wrecks, dredge volume, currents, wind, tides, siltation etc
  5. Topographical Survey map of land side of proposed Structure
  6. Structural Design/ Hydraulic Design Calculations for proposed structure based on the design vessels
  7. Structural Engineering Detailed drawings for proposed structure
  8. Geotechnical Investigation Report on the location for the development
  9. Environmental Impact Assessment (E.I.A) report on proposed development, inclusive of certification of EIA by the Federal Ministry of Environment.

 Structure Type B: Buildings, Warehouses, Access Roads, including all Structures on Land

  • Location map of proposed structure indicating adjoining development and road connections.
  • Evidence of land ownership (C of O, lease status e.t.c)
  • Engineering studies of the proposed Structure location etc
  • Topographical Survey map of land area proposed structure
  • Structural Design Calculations for proposed structure based on the intended use
  • Structural Engineering Detailed drawings for proposed structure
  • Geotechnical Investigation Report on the location for the development
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (E.I.A) report on proposed development, inclusive of certification of EIA by the Federal Ministry of Environment

Notes: All documents should be submitted in 6 copies and should be certified by a COREN registered Engineer

Timeline

  • Initial Response: Two (2) days
  • Approval: Three (3) days
  • Final evaluation of proposal: Ten (10) days
  • Conveyance of Final Approval: One (1) day

Water treatment and supply

Procedure

  • Request is made to the Port Manager (PM).
  • Commercial department, who raises a debit note to the customer for payments.
  • Water Treatment department delivers water on receipt of copy of debit note and evidence of payment
