BONNY CHANNEL COMPANY LIMITED

The Bonny Channel Company Limited is a Joint Venture Company established  and incorporated in August, 2005 with 60% equity shareholding by the Nigerian Ports Authority and 40% equity shareholding by the consortium, (TCMC) The Channel Management Company Limited.

The shareholding structure of BCC provides for the appointment of  three NPA Directors  as member of BCC Board and two Directors from the Joint venture partners.

The  core responsibilities of the company include:

  • Plan, Manage, Execute Maintenance and Capital Dredging works along the Bonny Channels.
  • Removal of wrecks along the channel
  • Maintenance of aids to navigation
  • Management training of NPA officials in line with dredging operations.
  • Visual pollution monitoring and bathymetric survey of channel

LAGOS CHANNEL MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED

Lagos Channel Management Company manages the Lagos Pilotage District. It was incorporated in August, 2005 by NPA with an equity shareholding of 60% and 40% equity to the Joint Venture partner, DEPASA MARINE INTERNATIONAL.
The Company’s Board of Directors is made up of three Directors from the Nigerian Ports Authority and two Directors from the Depasa Marine International.

The Company’s  core operations and responsibilities  includes:

  • Plan, Manage, Execute Maintenance and Capital Dredging works of the Lagos Channels.
  • Removal of wrecks along the channel
  • Maintenance of aids to navigation
  • Management training of NPA officials in line with dredging operations.
  • Visual Pollution Monitoring and Bathymetric survey of the channels.

The administrative office of Lagos Channel Management Company Limited is located within NPA Dockyard complex, Dockyard Road, Apapa Lagos.

CONTINENTAL SHIPYARD LIMITED

Continental Shipyard Limited is a Joint Venture Partnership between the Nigerian Ports Authority and Dockyard Engineering Service Limited of Geneva Switzerland.

The primary purpose for the establishment of the Joint Ventures is to turn around the Dockyard as a lucrative commercial enterprise through operating, up-grading and modernizing the facility to provide essential support for construction, repair manufacturing and maintenance of vessels, crafts, rigs etc. and at the same time extend these services to willing and capable bodies and individuals in the industry in and out of Nigeria at competitive cost.

The partners, Dockyard Engineering Service of Geneva Switzerland and the Nigerian Ports Authority pull together an equity share participation of 60% and 40 % respectively in favour of NPA. Nigerian Ports Authority is represented at the Company Board of Directors by five members while Dockyard Engineering Services Limited has three members on the Board

CALABAR CHANNEL MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED

The Calabar Channel Management Company Limited is a newly established Joint Venture arrangement between Niger Global Engineering and Technical Company Limited with the Nigerian Ports Authority for Management Contract on Dredging of Calabar Channel.The Nigerian Ports Authority holds 60% equity share participation while the Consortium led by Messrs Global Engineering and Technical Company Limited holds the balance 40% shareholdings.

The company is expected to execute on behalf of the Authority the following services.

  • Capital Maintenance Dredging of  Calabar Channel, Calabar River.
  • Quarterly bathymetric surveys in the Calabar Channel, Calabar River.
  • Bouy Maintenance and surveillance of Calabar, Channel, Calabar River.
  • Wreck removal in Calabar Channel, Calabar River.
  • Management training of the Authority’s staff with respect to the foregoing

AGURA HOTELS, ABUJA

Agura Hotels Limited is one of NPA’s Joint ventures in the hospitality industry. The circumstances that led to NPA investment in Agura Hotels was through the acquisition of the company’s allotted shares when the later approached the Authority for financial assistance through NPA superannuation fund.
NPA investment in Agura Hotels was further increased through the acquisition of additional shares for the financial years of 1992, 1993, and 1995 respectively.

NPA and Fasel Services Limited, owners of Agura Hotels are currently in deliberation aimed at moving the hotel to new heights.
